WEDDING PLANNING by YourBridalPlanner.com
Wedding Planning is arguably the most exciting thing [or the worst thing depending on your perspective] that one can put themselves through in life. Bride's emotions range the gamut from absolutely loving wedding planning, to absolutely hating wedding planning, and every emotion in between.
For many brides it's something they looked forward to for their entire life, while some simply want to get married, without all the pomp and circumstance that weddings certainly are akind to.
We hope to ease the pressure of brides planning and pulling off their own wedding planning all within a budget they are hoping to stay within. Our budget pages have helped countless brides through the mind-set of 'investing your wedding dollars' in the areas that are most important to you.
We consider ourselves on the cutting edge in terms of wedding articles and topic for discussionk, for instance, our multi-ethnic, multi-racial wedding articles are at once, very informative and very interesting and not often as discussed in other mainstream wedding sites. Through out our site we will offer you some of the worlds best wedding photography images, taken by top wedding photographers from around the nation.... while some of the best wedding videography firms are also contributing downloadable wedding videos.
All this so that you can get educated AND EXCITED about WEDDING PLANNING
FACTOID: Many wedding consultants got their start after having planned their own wedding. That's on the job wedding planning training...

I SAID YES TO A PROPOSAL, NOW WHAT DO I DO?
Once you get a ring, you need to set a date for your wedding. Brides will have to determine what time of the year for the wedding to take place. Some brides may choose 'off-peak' seasons and also choose a weekday or Sunday to get married. For many brides, it's the availability of the locations they want that will determine the wedding date.
"OK, I GOT A RING AND A DATE. NOW WHAT DO I DO?"
WEDDING PLANNING SCHEDULE: Don't be hap-hazard about your wedding planning. Try and set-up a daily schedule with which to take care of any wedding planning activities you may have. You will soon discover that wedding planning takes as much time as having a second or part time job. For students or people who work, the time you spend planning will be critical and will have to be productive.
BUDGETS: Our mantra around yourbridalplanner.com is the mindset of 'investing your dollars' in what is most important to you. Whether the flowers, reception, photographer, favors or videographer are more important to you is personal to you and only you can make the decision. In the past and even today, right now this very minute, budget calculators are being used to determine percentage of budget. We disagree by having a pre determined amount of money to be spent without first deciding how important that particular wedding vendor / service is to you.
Follow the budget philosophy first discussed here at YPB.com which involves a lot of shopping, putting priority on the services that matter to you the most, and NOT following a pre-determined percentage of the overall budget for any particular vendor. We are discussing this in more detail on this page, click here to read it!
INCLUDE THE GROOM: Venus and Mars. Yep, there may be some conflict here so it's important to include the groom right from the beginning. Men will often complain when it comes to spending money. The opposite side of this coin is that Woman LOVE TO SHOP. This results in two heads, being better than one! Often, the groom (or bride if the situation is reverse) can raise issues and offer an alternative view of whatever situation presents itself.
BE GOOD TO YOURSELF!!! As the wedding day approaches, you will find that things will get much more stressful. This is the time when you need to take even better care of yourself by getting some pampering by your local or getaway SPA. Set up weekly message therapy sessions. If you work out, spend more time at the gym. Weeks before the wedding, cut back (or eliminate?) the caffeine, alchohol and nicotine. We've spoken to many a bride who did not sleep the night prior to the wedding and many times it was due to consuming too much of the above!
READ THE WEDDING PLANNING TOPICS listed on the left. You will be pleasantly surprised at how new, fresh and exciting the ideas we discuss here at YPB.com are. We aim to avoid the redundancy of discussing ideas and topics that have already been well covered and well documented in other areas on the Web. Rather, our goal is to break new ground and create new ways of doing things with a fresh perspective on the entire process. This is only possible by listening to the millions of brides that are sending us their stories. We truly appreciate your input, and hope that by sharing lessons learned, other Brides will avoid having the heartache of learning it for themselves.

A BRIEF HISTORY ABOUT WEDDING PLANNING from our friends over at WikiPedia
A wedding is the ceremony in which two people are united in marriage or a similar institution. Wedding traditions and customs vary greatly between cultures, ethnic groups, religions, countries, and social classes. Most wedding ceremonies involve an exchange of wedding vows by the couple, presentation of a gift (offering, ring(s), symbolic item, flowers, money), and a public proclamation of marriage by an authority figure or leader. Special wedding garments are often worn, and the ceremony is followed by a wedding reception. Music, poetry, prayers or readings from Scripture or literature also may be incorporated into the ceremony.
