Wedding Photo Booths
One of the very latest trends in wedding reception entertainment is the PHOTO BOOTH.
WHAT IS A PHOTO BOOTH?
As the name implies, a photo booth is a place where a guest would go to have their photo taken. In some cases, it’s not actually a photo booth in the traditional sense. But in all cases, the photo booth is capable of taking photos of one to several people for the purposes of having a wedding keepsake. In many cases, images are also uploaded online for later viewing and ordering by the guest. Each photo booth vendor will try and offer something unique to differentiate their offerings.
Photobooths and weddings are a perfect match. The photobooth is exploding in popularity and the pictures you are left with are priceless. The concept of the photobooth is very easy. You enter in, press one button, and allow the automative photobooth to take four pictures. Most companies provides props to enhance the experience for the guests.
PHOTO BOOTH INFORMATION
The experience is fun and folks are free to let loose and be themselves as there is no photographer or other person directing you. Photo booths are great for shy folks who may not feel comfortable letting their guard down in front of a photographer, guest or a group of people. The photobooth is private and allows the guests to be more themselves. People have so much fun taking pictures in the photobooth from a basic standing pose, to more creative expressions, and then to plain hillarious and silly!
THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF PHOTO BOOTHS
There are all different types of booths. Some are made out of aluminum framing and plastic panels. Others are made out of wood. You can either have a smaller arcade like booth that can fit up to 3 people, or you can have a larger booth that is usually surrounded by pipe and drape that can provide larger groups to enter into the photobooth.
Photobooth packages are between 3-5 hours ranging from $595-$1400. It all depends on the size of the booth and what add ons you want to include to the package such as: scrapbook, green screen, video messaging, size of the photostrips (4 x 6 or 5 x7), prop box, and customization to the photo strips and the booth.
Photo Booths can come in all shapes and sizes. They are offered as full service entertainment or self-service entainment. In full service entertainment, an attendant is present to guide the guest through the process. In a self service capacity, the photo booth is set up in a pre determined spot somewhere in or around the reception area, and left alone by the set up crew.
Some photo booths come with props such as hats and masks, while other wedding photo booths mimick the original photo booths of the past.

If you plan on having a wedding videographer, make sure that the videographer understands your photographer’s workflow. A meeting or teleconference between the photographer and videographer may be necessary to ensure that both services work in concert with one another. Many photographers offer videography as well. This might be a good choice, but don’t just hire the videographer your photographer is recommending without seeing the work. Check to ensure that the videography is the real deal, and not just something the photographer...
